Saudi Arabian Minister of Investment, HE Khalid Al Falih, led the Digital Entertainment round table in Tokyo, Japan, as part of the Saudi Arabia-Japan Vision 2030 Business Forum.
Delegates from Saudi Arabia and Japan discussed trends, content development, and gaming investment, aiming to make Saudi Arabia a global hub for digital entertainment by 2030. Minister Al Falih was joined by HE Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of Saudi Arabia, HE Eng. Abdullah Alswaha, and several other dignitaries from relevant sectors in the Kingdom.
HRH Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud took part in the round table in his capacity as President of the Saudi Sports for All Federation, alongside HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan Al Saud, President of the Saudi Esports Federation.
The round table addressed various topics around cultural exchange, joint content and gaming initiatives, the digital media space, and the upcoming Esports World Cup set to take place July 2024.
Invest Saudi reported that the forum witnessed “the signing of 13 agreements and MoUs with Japanese entities and companies” spanning various sectors, including water, financial services, communications, information technology, energy, and healthcare.
Additionally, “three projects were announced in the areas of construction technology, tourism, and entertainment,” the report confirmed.
